damask roses produce the most fragrant flowers with the highest oil content making them the most highly desirable ingredient in skincare preparations

what is damask rose?

The rose is a prickly bush that bears stunning, fragrant flowers in varying shades of red, yellow, pink, and white. It is native to northern temperate regions. Numerous hybrids and cultivars have been developed and are widely grown as ornamentals, and used to skin care and wellbeing products.

Rose & Skincare

Rosehip oil is extracted from the fruit of the rose flower, and is chock full with vitamins, including A, C, D and E in addition to essential fatty acids, all of which are known to protect, brighten and nourish the skin. Fatty acids, which are vital in encouraging water retention in the cells, helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Altogether, these properties make rosehip oil especially well suited for sun damaged, lacklustre, acne scarred and pigmented skin.
